I Choose the Light

Sometimes life feels like you're going through a pitch black tunnel, alone, with nothing but a small, thin flashlight beam to light the way. Elder Vern P. Stanfill recounted a story about this in his October 2015 LDS General Conference address. I highly recommend you all read it because it is so amazing and uplifting. Here is the link to read it...

I loved reading this talk. It reminded me that there is hope in this life. You can find light and life through the gospel!
In Elder Stanfill's talk he focuses on three things that he learned from his experience in a tunnel:
First, no matter how intense the darkness of doubt, we choose how long and to what extent we allow it to influence us.
Second, we must trust in the Lord in order to develop spiritual strength within ourselves.
Third, there is no darkness so dense, so menacing, or so difficult that it cannot be overcome by light.
You can find light in your life. You can find joy. You can make your way out of the dark, whatever the dark may be for you. I choose the light. I choose to follow the light of the gospel.
I know this gospel causes a change of heart in people. It changes you for the better. It helps you find direction and light in your life. I know that the Atonement can help people become better and more Christlike. I know it can change lives. I have seen it.
Remember that you are all children of God and are loved so deeply.
