The Man Who Loves You

Happy Valentine's Weekend!! (And to all the singles out there... Happy Singles Awareness Weekend! Trust me, I'm right there with you... I love you all!)

I know all you lovers out there are so excited (and maybe some not-so-excited) for yet another Valentine's Day. This day is all about you and your significant other. To all you ladies out there, Valentine's Day can actually be a nice day. It's nice to see your man care about you enough to go a little out of his way to show his love. To all the men... Come on. Go buy her chocolates. It may not seem like a big deal to you, but it shows her that you're making an effort. She'll love it.

But I wanted to talk about a different type of love than is usually associated with Valentine's Day... That of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for you. Their love is eternal and unconditional. They are there for you whenever you need them.

I love my Father in Heaven and my Saviour. One way to show that love is to keep God's commandments. I choose to keep them.

Many times the commandments are looked at as a hindrance and a limitation. But I think of keeping the commandments as freeing. "God's laws are a manifestation of His love for us and obedience to His laws is an expression of our love for Him." Sometimes it is very difficult to keep the commandments. Or maybe you simply feel as if your life is stagnant. But God has a plan for you. Trust Him. I've seen this in my own life as I've been working on choosing 1) the university I want to attend, and 2) my career path - and I'm still working on it! I'm working on placing my trust in Heavenly Father to get me where I need to go. I have to do things on my part such as apply for colleges, take classes on subjects that interest me, etc. When I do those things, God helps me to realise if that is what I want in and for my life or not.

Another way to show love for our Saviour Jesus Christ is to serve those around you with love. Loving your fellow man is the second great commandment. When you serve others, it is as if you're serving God.

I just wanted to remind all of you, both ladies and gents, that you are loved by your Father in Heaven and your Saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ loved you so much that he gave his own life that you might be able to live. You are able to repent, be resurrected, and live with the Father and the Son again.

I love you all, have a great Valentine's weekend!
